Got Questions About an Ingredient?

We love talking all things skincare. Reach out anytime — we’re here to help you feel good in your skin, naturally.

What does hyaluronic acid do?

It draws in and holds moisture at the skin’s surface, so dry skin looks smoother and feels softer. That’s why we pair it with paw paw in our hyaluronic acid face cream.

What is hyaluronic acid?

A moisture-holding ingredient found naturally in skin. In a cream it binds water to keep skin looking plump and hydrated — it’s the star of our 125ml face cream.

What is glycerine?

A plant-derived humectant — it attracts water and holds it in the skin. One of the oldest and most trusted moisturising ingredients there is, and it’s in every cream we make.

Is coconut oil good for skin?

It’s rich in natural fatty acids that soften and condition dry skin, which is why organic coconut oil is one of the base oils in our creams.

Is aloe vera good for skin?

Aloe vera juice is light, hydrating and gentle — we use organic aloe vera juice as a base in our creams instead of water, so the cream starts with goodness rather than filler.

What is shea butter?

A rich plant butter from the shea tree, prized for softening dry, rough skin. We use certified organic shea and cocoa butters for deep, lasting moisture.

What is jojoba oil good for?

Jojoba is a liquid plant wax very close to skin’s own oils, so it absorbs easily without feeling greasy — it helps our creams sink in and soften skin.

What is a quandong?

A native Australian desert peach, used for generations by First Nations people. We use quandong extract as one of our Australian botanicals for skin conditioning.

What is phenoxyethanol?

A preservative that keeps a cream fresh after opening — one of the most widely used in cosmetics worldwide. Our creams contain just 0.9%, enough to keep them stable.

Is phenoxyethanol safe for skin?

It’s permitted in cosmetics in Australia and the EU at up to 1%, and we use 0.9%. Every ingredient is on our label, so if you have a known sensitivity you can check before you buy.

Is macadamia oil good for skin?

Macadamia oil is rich in fatty acids similar to skin’s own, making it a beautiful softening oil. Please note macadamia is a tree nut — if you have a tree-nut allergy, check the label first.

What is magnesium chloride used for?

It’s the form of magnesium used in skin products. In our paw paw magnesium body cream it’s blended for easy everyday use on dry skin.

What is kakadu plum?

A native Australian fruit with one of the highest natural vitamin C contents of any fruit in the world — laboratory-tested at 12.1% natural vitamin C in our powder. One of our signature Australian ingredients.

What is Davidson plum?

A rainforest fruit native to Australia, used as a botanical extract in our range.

Does paw paw cream have petroleum in it?

Some well-known paw paw ointments are made on a petroleum jelly base. Ours contains none — it’s a plant-based cream made with 60% paw paw and organic aloe vera juice.

Does paw paw cream contain hydroquinone?

No. There is no hydroquinone in any Real McArthur product. Every ingredient we use is listed on the label.

Can you eat paw paw cream?

No — it’s a cosmetic made for skin, not food. Like most creams it contains a small amount of preservative, so keep it for the outside: hands, elbows, heels and body.
