At Real McArthur Paw Paw Products, our story begins with my father, Tom McArthur—a man known to many as The Paw Paw Man. To us, he was a devoted husband and father. To others, he was a pioneer in natural skincare, dedicated to creating products that truly make a difference.

Tom’s passion for skin care was more than just talk—he once dipped his fingers in a frying pan just to prove how protective and effective his creams really were.

The inspiration behind his original skincare range came from his time serving in the armed forces in Malaya. Enduring harsh jungle conditions and painful fungal infections caused by prolonged wear of army boots, he began experimenting with natural remedies—anything from fruits and vegetables to leaves and barks. One moment stuck with him: seeing a monkey treat another’s wound with the chewed spit of a plant. That sparked a lifelong journey of discovery.

Back home, Tom continued to experiment, tirelessly working to unlock the healing enzymes in fruits—especially Paw Paw. He pored over beauty articles, learned from villagers in Malaya, and, together with my mom, Linda, developed a range of creams and lotions that have helped countless people find relief from skin issues.

For Tom, it was never about money. “I’m really not bothered if it makes me rich,” he once told a journalist. His true reward was giving back to the Hervey Bay community, which welcomed him so warmly and helped people feel more comfortable in their skin every day.

Now, we carry his legacy forward with pride, offering natural, effective skincare rooted in kindness, tradition, and real results.

With Tom now enjoying retirement, I’ve proudly stepped in to carry on his legacy—honouring his vision while creating something fresh for today’s skincare needs.
